A prayer for back to school
If you’re busy readying backpacks, packing lunches, buying pencils, and meeting new teachers...this prayer is for you.
For the parent who is fearful, trust He is there when you can’t be.
For the parent who feels tired and alone, may God send you help and encouragement in this season.
For the parent who is wondering where provision is coming from, we pray for abundance and that every need is met.
For the parent who is worried about their child struggling, we pray for grace and for teachers who genuinely see them.
For families who are battling with silent things, we pray for strength and comfort only God can give.
For the precious teachers, we pray that You give them each wisdom and grace this year as You have entrusted them to help write each child’s story.
For the teachers who are also parents, we pray that their hearts would be comforted knowing their children are cared for the way they care for others.
For the schools, we pray that they are a place of haven, peace, and safety. We ask that Your protective arms would wrap around each and every building.
For the school staff and administration, we pray for courage to be a helper, to have compassion, and to pour out wisdom. We know that the burden is heavy, but we serve a God whose yoke is easy.
For our children, we pray that you see a God who is bigger than today. He is the Creator and the King. He loves you and is with you each and every day.
For the students who endured a difficult summer, we pray you are embraced with open arms by those around you. God knows your story and He is the Lord who provides.
For the kids who are nervous and take time to open up, we pray that you would feel seen in the way God sees you. You are a precious gift.
And for those who are excited to step into a new school year, we pray that you know the God who gives life and breath and holds everything together in His mighty hands.
Lord, hear our prayers. You love our children more than we could imagine, and we ask You to be with them this school year in every moment, in every word, in every thought, be on their hearts and minds.
